ABOUT THE AUTHOR

I was born in 1962 in a small town in Saskatchewan, second oldest of 5 children. I have so many great memories from this part of my life (my parents likely had a different perspective). 
Graduated from Eastend high school in 1980, my dad was also my principal (no pressure!)
By the time I was 26 I was married with three sons, Justin, Mitchell and Jenson, aged 1, 3 and 5. I was inspired to further my education and become a registered nurse after my middle son was diagnosed with and conquered childhood leukemia.

It was during the stressful time of his illness that anxiety and depression began to have an effect on me. I began to look for ways to assist my body to heal itself. That’s when I discovered yoga/ meditation and energy healing. They changed my life!

These healing modalities, my children, grandchildren and God were the inspiration for writing my first book “SHINE”.

Shine by Sherree Dee

​Everyone holds the power within themselves to live in harmony with all other beings; it starts with a breath. Shine introduces a guided meditation practice using the breath, the imagination, and gentle movement to help children realize how they can create calm and peace inside themselves and in the world around them.  

Meditation using the breath is a simple and effective way to manage anxiety and stress—which even young children can experience. With a few easy-to-learn techniques, symptoms of anxiety and stress can be managed, which will lead to a more balanced, happier life, and create a sense of connection to the larger world. Shine provides a fun and accessible way to slow down and find calm and relaxation anytime, anywhere.

Though these guided meditation techniques are presented for children, the adults in their lives can join in to develop useful and enjoyable skills. Explore the connection between mind, body, and spirit to create a daily meditation practice for the whole family.

One dollar from every book sold in Canada will be donated to The Canadian Mental Health Association.
